We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to analyze financial data, prepare journal entries, and support accounting operations. This role includes performing cost variance analysis, maintaining balance sheet account schedules, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position is ideal for individuals who have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
This is a newly added position intended to support our continued growth. The selected candidate will join our existing Accountant and work collaboratively to strengthen our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare accurate journal entries with proper coding by account, department, and division
- Assist with month-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, financial adjustments, and supporting schedules
- Support revenue, cost, and expense analysis through review of transactions and variance reporting
- Compile and organize financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in maintaining balance sheet accuracy by preparing account schedules and recommending reclassification
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational accuracy and streamline financial processes
- Track and report key accounting metrics, identifying areas for process improvement and performance enhancement
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of accounting procedures, ERP entries, and supporting records in Odoo
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management or supervision
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting functions
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (minimum 2–3 years)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
- Familiarity with standard office equipment, clerical processes, and administrative procedures
- Understanding of efficient data filing and documentation systems
Preferred Skills
- Five or more years of accounting experience
- Accounting specialization or relevant certifications in lieu of formal degree focus
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency
